Well, congratulations Eminem. You've caused all hell to break lose in movie theatres across the country better than any other I have experienced before (including Star Wars, and Harry Potter... I think Lord of the Rings matched the mayhem).

Holy God. It has been complete chaos at Silvercity all weekend thanks to 8 Mile. Lineups everywhere, teenagers, adults, pushing, shoving, sneaking into movies, 12:30 late shows, sold out hours before start time, no spots in theatres, security guards called in to guard, called off concession to help control crazy psycho Eminem fans, managers going insane trying to make sure their precious operation runs smoothly despite the chaos.. believe me, I could go on. This only partly describes what we've all been going through working 8 Mile opening night, and then the carryover crowds on Saturday night. Friday, I was training Crystal on bar. Floor was going insane, Lyndsay called bar kids over to help clean theatres and then the ditz manager Stephanie told me to go back because I was training (even though she was completely capable on her own). Saturday night I switched with Heather to go on floor. It was actually fun, I love working floor when it's busy, especially door. I was getting really confused on door with directions though. lol. YOU try and be taking ticket after ticket after ticket of a huge lineup of people trying to get into movies, going "theatre 7 down the hall to your right", "theatre 3 down the hall to your left", "8 mile line up at the end on the left", "the ring line up on the end on the right", "8 mile 10:30 show line up back near theatre 1"... A couple of times I would be like "Theatre 3 on your right. left. right... shit.. left! It's on your left!" lol then I sent some people down the hall to their right, forgetting in my rush that theatre 12 was actually directly to my right and not down the hall at all. LOL. Craaaaazy.

I also got pulled off door to go and find seats in the theatre for people.. it's amazing how hard people pretend it is to get up and move one seat over so two ppl can have a seat in the theatre. So ridiculous. On the upside a few good things happened: I found the newest version of Cosmo when I was cleaning theatre 2 and jacked it *grin* bwahaha. And Roger and Lyndsay told me that I did a great job (thankyouverymuch *bows* I hope they learn that I'm a good floor player and give me more floor shifts now...).

Bad thing? Lyndsay and Dee were going to get Wendy's and I put in my order for a burger. My break at 8:00-8:15 came and went and they still weren't back yet, so at 8:30 I went back and took door for Keith and decided to pretend that I hadnt gone on break at all and go when my burger arrived. Problem? At around 8:40 people arrived for the 10:00 8mile show.. and from then on in it was chaos and I couldn't go with my burger to the staff room when it arrived, and never did end up eating it *sniff* :( I was so hungry.. and what a waste of $5. Bah.

Okay. Well, at least i'm not working till Wednesday which will hopefully be less frantic.

(And then.. geuss what? Next weekend Harry Potter, after that it's Bond, after that it's Star Trek after that it's LoTR. WHEN WILL IT END??)

As a final side note, I went on a Laurier campus visit Saturday and I love it. Small campus, great atmosphere.. and my tour guide Kaitie was a DMB fan!! Awesome. After that we went on a Guelph tour, but I didn't like it nearly as much (probably because I was about to fall over from exhaustion and the tour guide kinda sucked). SO yeah. Yey. That's all I gotta say. Bubye
